If the matter cannot be resolved then the agency will typically provide you with a “right to sue letter.” This allows you to begin a case in the Court system.

You may also request that the DFEH provide you with a right to sue letter immediately and that you be permitted to skip the administrative process. While the government is diligent in pursuing such matters the truth is that the process can be slow, time consuming, and can result in a longer period of time before you are able to simply get on with your life.
